THe Trojan war
The ancient Greeks are well known for their culture, stories, myths, wars, and etc. Their most well-known battle is the Trojan war which included their heroes such as, Odysseus, and Achilles. These heroes are the best known for their contributions in the Trojan war which were fought in the northwest of turkey. The Trojan war was fought throughout a span of a decade, Troy was a colonization which was well known for never being conquered and having gigantic walls. The Trojan war began when prince Paris of Troy and Prince Hector were visiting Sparta, the Trojans were great allies with the king of Sparta and he was married to at the time the most beautiful women on Earth. The woman's name was "Helen." The war started when Prince Paris had an affair with Helen and had took her home back to Troy this act started the war between the Greeks and Trojans. The greeks sent the largest fleet of ships ever in ancient greece history with about one thousand ships with supplies, soldiers, and cattle. Once arriving at troy the greeks conquered the beach right away. The reason for this was because Achilles and his Myrmidons were the first on the beach and fought fiercely against the trojans. After conquering the beach the greeks settles on the beach on Troy and fought and fought for ten years straight. During the war Patriculous cousin of Achilles Disguised as his cousin Achilles which at the time was about to leave the war with his army led the greek army against the trojans and during the battle came across Prince Hector and fought against him, then Prince Hector slashed Patriculous neck killing him. Achilles furious later went to the troy walls yelling Hector for hours demanding that he come outside the walls and fighting him, once Hector did exit from behind the walls and fought against Achilles for hours leading to Hector's death. Achilles still angry over his cousin's death attached Hector's body to his chariot and went back to his hut where he was staying. During the night King Priam king of Troy snuck into Achilles hut and begged for his son's body back, which Achilles did grant. After the confrontation with King Priam Achilles gave the Prince the twelve days of peace (which means no fighting will go on for twelve days). During this twelve day span the great Odysseus created a plan to build a horse of burned wood to grant to the trojans with the greeks finest warriors inside(which the greeks wouldn't know would be inside) they would leave it on the beach in order to make the trojans think it was a gift to poseidon(god of sea) to protect them on their voyage home, which the greeks were actually going to park all their ships behind a mountain and attack at dark when everyone would be asleep and off guard. After the trojans discovered the horse they took it inside the walls of Troy, Prince Paris protested that they should burn the horse and not accept the gift from the greeks but King Priam denied his opinion and accepted the gift. After taking the horse into Troy the trojans had a celebration and all got drunk. During night while everyone was asleep and drunk the warriors from inside the horse escaped from it and attacked all the trojans and opening the gates to Troy letting the whole Greek army raid Troy. While the Greeks were raiding Troy Achilles was at the top fighting the trojans when Prince Paris spotted Achilles then fired an arrow at Achilles which landed on his heel (which is Achilles weakest spot on his body) which did kill him. After leaving Troy Odysseus king of Ithaca set out to sail and went on a voyage back to his hometown that took nearly two decades (An epic poem was written about Odysseus voyage home by Homer).
