The Odyssey
The Odyssey is based on after the first ten years of his voyage which he spent on the island with the wizard. After the first ten years he had one more decade left of the voyage home to Ithaca. The epic poem the odyssey is placed when he lands in different amounts of Islands and when he reaches his home land. The first island is the island of the giants which was said to have some of the greatest grass in the world at the time, which the giants didn't care for to much. When Odysseus landed on the island he took twelve of his greatest warriors to explore the island (He took twelve men because the last time he sent untrustworthy warriors he got stuck on the island for a span of a decade). When he and his men went to explore the island they stumbled upon a cave which they entered and the island was accompanied by a giant which they called “Nobdy” . They called him this because he was said to be scared of noone. Once the giant noticed them he quickly grabbed two of his greatest warriors and just ate them in front of them. The giant then closed the big rock which was the door (that only he can open). The men were stuck in there for the remaining of the time so the giant kept on grabbing men at random in order to eat them. Then Odysseus came up with a plan to offer the giant some of his rare wine that was gifted to him by a comrade. When he offered the giant the wine the giant agreed to the wine and told Odysseus that he will spare him a favor and eat him last after he ate all his men. After saying this the giant asked where his ship was, then Odysseus quickly responded and said that their ship had got wrecked by the god of water and earthquakes Poseidon. (He said this in order to protect his other men on the ship.) After this conversation the giant got super drunk which led to him falling to sleep. They had come up with a plan to kill him before he ate anyone else, but remembered that they can't open the door, that it was to heavy for them to push open, so they came up with a plan to stab him in the eye in order to blind him so he can open the door. When they stabbed the giant in the eye the giant became furious and pushed the door open. When doing this the men all tied themselves to the sheep that the giant cared for and snuck out onto the ship. Finally the giant noticed that they had left so then he got furious with anger and prayed to his father Poseidon to give them a horrific journey home, because what they had done to his eye. The giant became even more furious that he got a big chunk of the mountain and threw it to the ship which pushed the ship onto shore. The men then anchored the ship in the middle of the sea in order to avoid the bad weather. After this the poem continues to when they land on different islands, and face many other unheard creatures.
